Founded by Kent B. Williams, II in 1982 ?, Machine Tool Programming developed CAD/CAM software for machine tools, marketed by Wiedemann Tools in King of Prussia, PA. The business filed with the PA Department of State in August 1984 and is still (2025) shown as 'Active'.

Development started on the Tandy RS80 Model III and continued to the Tandy 3000 PC, an early IBM PC-compatible computer.

As suggested in the Sunday News article transcribed below, until November 1985 the company was located at Kent's home on Kinderhook Road, Columbia, located above the Columbia High School.
